Funding Call BHF CRE and BRC Joint Studentships – project call
The Cardiovascular Theme and the BHF CRE will award 2 co-funded studentships for next year’s PhD intake (October 2025 start) to address the one-year gap in the BHF DTP MRes/PhD programme.
The topic of the PhD should align with the BHF Centre’s aim of addressing the heterogeneity of cardiovascular diseases.
The awards will cover:
- A 3-year stipend at BHF rates
- Home fees included
- Up to £5k for dry lab projects and up to £10k per annum for wet lab
- £1000 towards travel
±Ê±ô±ð²¹²õ±ðÌýfor the application form.
The primary supervisors must devote at least 10% of their time to supervising the student and have guaranteed tenure for the term of the award.
The deadline for completed applications is 9 am Monday 5th January 2025. The applications will be scored blind to other scorers by a wide panel consisting of current BHF Exec, DTP representatives and members of the BRC CV Theme Exec. The successful applicants will be informed by the mid- January 2025 and will be responsible for recruitment (with the support of Jaya Rajamanie, the BHF Centre manager): one of the DTP program directors and a member of the Exec will join each interview panel along with the supervisors.
Please note that the studentships provide home registration fees only. This means that any student recruited subject to overseas fees must make up the shortfall, this will be made clear on the advertisements when they go out.
